Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Buttafly you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use Buttafly. By signing up you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement in your country of residence.
Your account and phone verification
Buttafly accounts are created with your mobile phone number, verified by a one time SMS code. You are responsible for keeping your phone number and device secure and for all activity on your account. Do not share verification codes with anyone. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Your content and licence
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, stories, memories, and text you post. By posting, you grant Buttafly a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the app so the service can work, for example showing your posts to the audiences you choose. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared with others or where we must retain it by law.
Events and real world safety
Buttafly helps people discover, host, and attend events. Events are organised by users and venues, not by Buttafly. We do not control and are not responsible for what happens at an event. Use your own judgement when attending, follow local laws and venue rules, and take the precautions you would normally take when meeting people or visiting places you do not know.
Guestlists and visibility
When you RSVP to an event, your profile may appear on that event guestlist according to the visibility settings chosen by you and by the host. Private events and their guestlists are visible only to invited guests. Review your privacy settings to control what other people can see about you.
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use Buttafly to harass, threaten, or defame others, post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content, impersonate any person or organisation, spam or scam other users, promote illegal activity, scrape or collect data without permission, or interfere with the operation or security of the service.
Moderation and reporting
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive behaviour on Buttafly. You can report an account, an event, a comment, or a message from inside the app, and you can block any account so you no longer see it or hear from it. We review every report and act on it within 24 hours, which may mean removing the content, restricting or removing the account, or both. Repeat or serious breaches result in permanent removal. Where appropriate we will tell you what action was taken and why, and you may appeal a decision through the in app support desk.
Termination
You may stop using Buttafly and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must do so by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonable we will give you notice before termination takes effect.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Buttafly is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for the conduct of users or venues, or for events organised through the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of Buttafly is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Qatar, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
